I'm Paul Lang and I've been working for more than 20 years creating books, magazines, merchandise, newspapers and websites, specialising in children's and popular culture.
I've been development editor of Toxic, art editor of We Love Pop and Doctor Who Adventures, as well as working on loads of other titles, including the winning pitches for The Official Minecraft Magazine and Horrible Histories, and redesigns for Go Girl and Girl Talk. I'm an expert in all aspects of print design, as well as polybag and covermount gift design and production.
When I'm not designing, I'm doing… well, everything else really. I've been deputy editor and acting editor of Doctor Who Adventures, and also commissioned and edited the weekly comic strip for four years. My words have appeared in Gay Times and Doctor Who Magazine, and I also write the Doctor Who Annual for Penguin Books.
I've used this experience to start The Pop Group, a content agency dedicated to producing high-quality and unique editorial and design for publishers. I can offer the very best in writing, art direction and editing – or all three. Working with a network of excellent freelance colleagues and can put together teams of all sizes to meet your needs.
I'm also available for shifts, in-office cover and remote working – whether you need to outsource a project, want an extra pair of hands for a few days, or require someone for a longer contract, I can help.
